The band was founded on the base of semi-acoustic project “Lara Stepanova and Co” formed in 2005. Originally the project consisted of female vocals, guitar, bass and violin. The actual name appeared in the spring of 2008. The band was changing its style and conception over the years. Beginning with author songs the band turned to Russian folk compositions. Sbiten’ made its way from acoustic sound to real rock and from ballad lyricism to wide musical palette using opportunities of the folk genre. At the moment the band relies on violin, accordion, guitar, bass and drums. The musicians bring their own ideas into the folk material making their songs for both modern listeners and traditional folk fans.
